UNSW / Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Joint Scholarship Program
Graduate Research School
The joint funded scholarship program by HEC and UNSW is a fully funded scholarship covering tuition fees, a living allowance and a return international airfare to Sydney or Canberra up to a maximum of 48 months. Awards are only offered for Semester 2 of each year for candidates entering into the PhD program. In order to qualify for this scholarship you must be awarded a UNSW Tuition Fee Scholarship (TFS).
In advance of applying for this scholarship please review the eligibility criteria on the HEC Pakistan website.
Self-Assessment
Before applying to UNSW, you are required to complete the UNSW Self Assessment Tool and receive an outcome advising that you may be competitive for a scholarship. Please note the outcome of the self assessment tool is an indication of the likelihood of you being awarded the UNSW/HEC scholarship based on the answers you provide.
Eligibility
UNSW TFSs are in high demand and are awarded on a competitive basis to only the best qualified applicants. Successful applicants typically possess a first class honours undergraduate degree (see UNSW Research Scholarship Guidelines on our Scholarships page) or a masters level degree with a substantial research dissertation that has been awarded at the high distinction level. Increasingly, our scholarship awardees also have a track record of publishing in quality journals.
It is also important to note that you will not be considered unless you provide evidence with your admission application that you have identified a UNSW academic staff member with the appropriate research background for your project and you have made contact and received a positive indication as to their willingness to supervise. Please do not simply email your Curriculum Vitae to a list of prospective supervisors as this approach is unlikely to result in a positive response.
